This year’s concert is a contemporary dance theatre adaptation of Jean Giraudoux’s play Ondine, a medieval love story about a water nymph and a knight, and the tragic consequences of their union. The playwright weaves a theatrical fantasy where a charming fable intertwines with the depth of classical tragedy. Adapted to Filipino sensibilities, the dance production narrates the story of an ethereal sea nymph who falls in love with a dashing nobleman, only to lose her true love to the harsh realities of the outside world. Ondine tells the tale of a water nymph who falls in love with a mortal knight. A story of passion, betrayal, and fate, this enchanting production will transport audiences to a world of magic and tragedy.
